I just started making some references for myself, but got carried away hahah… ha :’D
I figured I’d share. I’m hoping to make a series of these things for all the drawing bits that give me trouble: woman torsos, hands, wings, different body types, etc.
I hope you also find them useful!
Anonymous asked: Totally off-topic but I've been seeing this around Tumblr lately and I want to know your stance on the issue. I've been seeing a lot of people calling obesity a beautiful thing and that we shouldn't judge people for being that weight. I myself don't judge based on body shape but I feel as though people saying obesity is an alright thing, don't understand what health issues it can lead to such as diabetes and heart failure. What's your stance on this?
The human body is beautiful, but we are taught since birth that only some body types are “ok”. Which is pretty harmful, society has a very narrow view of what’s ok.
Health issues are not exclusive to obese people. I’m pretty thin. I get exhausted easily. Practically all of my bigger cousins could beat me in a race. My mom got underweight very fast because of depression, which caused a whole lot of other problems in her body.
I think people should try to be healthy if they can and try to avoid extremes, but it’s not my place to judge them for how much they weight. If somebody close to me has health issues then I give my support in any way they need. I don’t know if that makes sense?
I guess the point people try to make on the whole “obesity is beautiful” is just being misconstrued. The point really should be that we shouldn’t judge a person just based on their weight, be it because they’re skinny or fat. We shouldn’t think less of a person just based on their weight and we certainly should bully them or comment on their weight.
A parallel that can be helpful in understanding this point of view is racism. Judging based on the color of a person’s skin is obviously wrong. Statistics show that darker skinned people tend to commit more crimes be lower in test scores, but this correlation is not the same as causation. Just because a person has dark skin doesn’t mean they’re more prone to commit crimes. So although statistically speaking obese people tend to have more health problems; health problems aren’t just unique to obese people. Sure health should take precedence in a person’s life but you can’t assume a person isn’t healthy just because they’re overweight or if a person is skinny.
Point is that neither weight nor the color of a person’s skin should give you the right to judge them and make you treat them like they’re not beautiful or lesser than anyone else.
I swear to God you guys, do not let me design a house. This is all thanks to the sink fandom.
and the staircase fandom
I love all these things but I would have to hire a interior decorator so they could make it cohesive and not looks like a hot mess @__@
